Thinking rhymes with drinking

June 5, 2007

“Hey!” says Bernie the half-cyborg cat. “We’ve been tagged as a Thinking Blog by our fellow World Blog Council member Daddy Papersurfer.”

“We even get a little graphic too,” says Mikka. “Sweet-ass.”

“Wait, we have to link to the original poster of this meme,” says Ninja Vicki. “And we have to relay the other rules of it.”

“If tagged by someone as a blog that makes them think, you must in turn write a post containing/nominating five blogs, no more, no less, that make you think,” says Avonia, reading from a scroll.

“Okay… five blogs that make us think…” says Anonymous Doug. “Do they have to be real blogs or can we pick extreme porn sites? Because those always get me thinking stuff like ‘Is that legal in America?’ and ‘That must really hurt.’”

“No, it has to be blogs,” says Tina the Lesbian. “We’d better get to work.”

So we sat around the bar of the Bass-to-Bass with a pen and a cocktail napkin and a couple pitchers of bourbon and maple syrup coming up with the five blogs that make Renal Failure think. Six hours later, we succeeded in getting thrown out of the Bass-to-Bass as well as coming up with our five.

Wicca201 – (We let Avonia pick this one if she would buy the next round of drinks. Plus it is very thought-encouraging regarding Wicca and paganism)

nursemyra – (The good nurse relays stories that make us think… about the perils of being old and Australian and stricken with dementia. Still… if it gets us under her charge…)

sulz – (She asks questions of her audience, and question-asking is a deep sign of thinking)

renee – (She loves pub quiz as much as we do, and that requires a lot of thinking)

Lord Likely – (Unlike Renal Failure, all of the Astonishing Adventures of Lord Likely are true, and that makes us think about what would happen if we told the truth. And then after five seconds of that we go back to practicing acupuncture on Mikka with darts off the dartboard)

“I think we need to read more blogs,” says Avonia.

“That’s going to cut into our watching cute kitten videos on the Internet,” says Bernie.

Thinking doesn’t stand a chance against kitten videos.
